Bot posting tweets out of order

by bwdaly posted Jul 31 2015, 14:01

Hi,

I've used Botlibre to create a bot, @HeartSutraBot, that will tweet the text of the Heart Sutra line by line.

It seems to be working, except it's tweeting the lines all out of order.

How can I get it to tweet the lines in order?

Below is the full text, including line breaks.

Thanks.

Heart of Great Perfect Wisdom Sutra
Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva,
when deeply practicing prajna paramita,
clearly saw that all five aggregates are empty
and thus relieved all suffering.
Shariputra,
form does not differ from emptiness,
emptiness does not differ from form.
Form itself is emptiness,
emptiness itself form.
Sensations, perceptions, formations, and consciousness are also like this.
all dharmas are marked by emptiness;
they neither arise nor cease,
are neither defiled nor pure, neither increase nor decrease.
Therefore, given emptiness,
there is no form,
no sensation,
no perception,
no formation,
no consciousness;
no eyes,
no ears,
no nose,
no tongue,
no body,
no mind;
no sight,
no sound,
no smell,
no taste,
no touch,
no object of mind;
no realm of sight,
no realm of mind consciousness.
There is neither ignorance nor extinction of ignorance,
neither old age and death,
nor extinction of old age and death;
no suffering,
no cause,
no cessation,
no path;
no knowledge,
and no attainment.
With nothing to attain,
a bodhisattva relies on prajna paramita,
and thus the mind is without hindrance.
Without hindrance, there is no fear.
Far beyond all inverted views, one realizes nirvana.
All buddhas of past, present, and future rely on prajna paramita
and thereby attain unsurpassed, complete, perfect enlightenment.
Therefore, know the prajna paramita as the great miraculous mantra,
the great bright mantra,
the supreme mantra,
the incomparable mantra,
which removes all suffering and is true, not false.
Therefore, we proclaim the prajna paramita mantra,
the mantra that says:
“Gate Gate. Paragate. Parasamgate. Bodhi Svaha.”

The Twitter bot auto tweet will currently choose a tweet at random. We will look into adding support to cycle the tweets.

You can cycle through your text now using a Self script. Basically you need to load and associate the text, then create a script that will cycle between the text phrases.

I created some example scripts to show you how to do this, first you need a script to load the text.

http://www.botlibre.com/script?id=1105522

This script will load the first part of your sutra. You can extend it for your full text, just copy and paste. You just need to associate each phrase with the next phrase by #next.

This script is activate when you say "load heart sutra", only call this once.

Next you need a script that keeps track of the current phrase, and cycles to the next one. This script will do that. It will activate when you say "heart sutra".

http://www.botlibre.com/script?id=1105537

You can import both of these scripts from the Scripts page under Admin. You may need to move them above your other scripts in precedence.

Finally you need to set your auto tweet to just a single Template tweet that calls the script,

Template("{redirect "heart sutra"}")
